The Advantages and Disadvantages of Modern Technology for Society

In this modern era, digitalization has profoundly changed life on this planet. It is barely possible to imagine life without advanced technological devices as everyone has started relying on these advanced networks. A significant degree of people are achieving their work fundamentally on a PC; everybody possesses their cellular devices and has web accounts to remain active in social life. Online services like Facebook, Instagram, etc., advertisements can mold the user's opinions. The digital revolution has brought significant benefits for society. Nobody can ignore the productive utilization of digital technology on the industrial or clinical side, as it has revolutionized every aspect of life. Close by such benefits, specific unfavorable outcomes also hinder societies from fully appreciating modern technology. Like a coin has two sides, everything comes with advantages and disadvantages. Similarly, modern technology has completely changed the societal setup, but it has also created some more complex issues in its basic structure. It is believed that digital life can impact associations, working environments, and considerations. Digital technology has made it possible to communicate with people who live in opposite directions or who are located in different corners of the world map. It has enabled customers to keep in contact with multiple brands across the world. Moreover, it has helped those people who are socially disengaged or somehow set beside their immediate neighbors to communicate effectively with comparable or like-minded people. Digital media furthermore works with the formation of social organizations to expose of financial, social, political corruptions and provide platforms to discuss political concerns as well. Digital media is moreover allowing people all around the planet to form organizations, coordinate action, and make their voices heard on an enormous number of issues (Poudel, 2019). Technological advancement has, in a like manner, further developed information sharing across the world, facilitating people with providing access to real factors, figures, estimations, and raw data to critically evaluate situations. Furthermore, the digitization of content and data, similarly as new digital correspondence propels, has opened up smart business platforms. Now people have the choices from where, when, and how they will start their work and at which point they will wrap up their work. It is also changing the nature of the working relationships. The openness of digital data, web development, and better illuminating, sound, and video advancements have made many positions more conceivable now (Purcel & Rainie, 2014). Moreover, the medical care business has also gained gigantic advantages through modern experts' opinions on different matters, according to an investigation conducted by the seat research center. Information about clinical, security, and wellbeing resources can be accessed at any time without facing any difficulty with the help of modern technology; for instance, medication for different patients can be checked with the help of different web engines. This is a critical advantage and turned into a distinct advantage, especially in the fields of senior care and pregnancy. The faster access to information enables health authorities to keep a record about the numerical data of patient's enrollment in a particular health center and track down the patient's prior history of illness, etc., through that the patient can find support in a faster manner (Article Team, 2020). Furthermore, numerous disadvantages of digitalization are discouraging its acceptance globally. Firstly, technology has drastically changed the nature of human relationships. Humans are interacting on multiple social platforms, which do not necessarily require physical contact or face-to-face interaction. Besides developing a relationship with neighbors, a technologically influenced person will like to intensify the social associations through social platforms and may avoid true relations. It is convenient for digitally advanced societies to remain active on the web, which does not require any kind of face-to-face interaction rather than focusing on developing a real association among its members (Meyer, 2019).  A second bigger disadvantage of modern technology is that it is affecting companion relationships. An assessment by the University of Washington shows that people, especially youngsters, have the issue of reducing disengaged partnerships in the light of their online development. It is more straightforward for them to confer on the web, which doesn't need joint efforts, eye-to-eye contact, and avoids conflicts (Meyer, 2019). Sometimes, this may develop a sense of alienation among humans, which will result in serious psychological problems. Thirdly, easy access to all kinds of information also comes with some threats, for instance, the spread of false information, which can be easily misused for illegal purposes. As human nature would not change, cyber bullying, online stalking or other cybercrime will remain dominant in the future. Private information that can access easily with the help of multiple software permits the computerized culprits to attack in new ways. Last but not least, the fast-moving, efficient digital trading could make a more idle society that would not promote critical thinking on a more significant level or appreciate problem-solving capabilities.  Undoubtedly, modern technology has various prominent advantages like rapid spread of information, straightforward and quick correspondence, vast business opportunities, etc. However, certain drawbacks of this do not allow the users to fully appreciate digital advancement. In short, the reliance on modern technology is helping in achieving high standards of life. Moreover, this advancement depends on individual capacities, like how much they rely on technologically advanced tools and how they manage the adverse effects of digital technology on an individual and community life.
